With the 2025 season wrapping up at the World Championships of Warhammer, it feels like the perfect moment to take stock of my year and set some clear goals for the 25/26 season.
Season Retrospective
My 2025 Season Finish:
2979 Global Placing
267 Global Chaos Knights — achieved with only 3 out of a possible 4 scoring events
I picked up Houndpack Lance in August and had a blast, with no practice games went right into a RTT and haven't looked back!
Given my schedule, I’m realistically only able to commit to one RTT a month. That’s unlikely to change next season, and while it does cap my potential ITC score, it still leaves room for real progress. Four strong RTT results can give me an excellent finish on the Chaos Knights leaderboard, and six solid performances could land me a respectable global placing as well.
That said, leaderboard position is ultimately secondary. I’m not attending the super-majors chasing an ITC title or expecting to go 5–0 at the biggest events. My primary goal is and should be to keep improving as a Houndpack Lance player and continue enjoying the detachment as much as I do right now. Strong RTT finishes and consistent, competitive results are the mark of success for me at this stage.
And that starts this weekend! - I'll be posting a tournament report in the week.
Pledge for the 2025/26 Season
I’m committing to running pure Houndpack Lance for the entire season!!*
Well… *11th Edition pending—so at least until June/July, when the world (and the meta) inevitably explodes again. But until then, the plan is to stay loyal to the Lance.
It won’t always be easy, but I’ve got a long list of ideas, tweaks, experiments, and tactical angles I want to explore. Sticking with one detachment for a whole season should really sharpen my fundamentals and force me to master the nuances of the army.
So there it is—my retrospective, my pledge, and my goals for the 2025/26 season of Warhammer 40,000. Time to get to work!
