With another RTT just a few weeks away, I’ve been revisiting my Chaos Knights list following my March event. Rather than a full overhaul, as always this is more of a refinement, tightening efficiency, increasing board presence, and leaning harder into how the list actually scores.
Key Changes from March RTT
The biggest shift is dropping the Enhancements and reworking 3 Wardog loadouts, specifically swapping out 3 Brigands for 3 Executioners.
On paper, that might look like a downgrade in terms of Wardog quality, but in reality it’s freed up a crucial chunk of points. Those points have gone straight into adding a second Beast of Nurgle, which feels like a big win for how this list wants to play.
The result:
Increased unit count up to 17
Additional utility piece for scoring
More flexibility in both primary and secondary play
That extra Beast of Nurgle is huge. It’s not there to kill anything, it’s there to exist in annoying places, force opponents to deal with it, quietly rack up points and force over commitments. Which i will look to exploit.
Why Executioners?
Switching from 3x Brigands to 3x Executioners frees up 30pts, it shifts the army slightly away from spike damage and into more consistent, long-range output. AP1 is a notable issue, but, with 3 Executioners some flat3 damage is gonna get through, eventually.

Final Thoughts:
This feels like a more mature version of the list I ran in March.
No Enhancements will be interesting, Preyslayer Mantle has been incredibly good for me, so I feel that will be a big loss. Also losing final howl removes some reliability but not a massive loss as the army naturally spreads out so the aura becomes increasingly ineffective.
The second Beast of Nurgle is the real standout addition, it adds a layer of play that the previous version was missing.
There’s definitely a trade-off in raw killing power with the loss of Brigands, so it’ll be interesting to see how that plays into certain matchups. But overall, this version feels better suited to the missions where scoring wins games.
I will be back to share my games at the tournament in a report soon!
